Important Information

Who Are the AYU Instructors?

Arizona Youth University’s instructors have a passion for sharing their talents and knowledge with children and youth. They are skilled teachers with positive attitudes and innovative spirits who are chosen for their ability to work creatively with young people while providing a positive and encouraging environment in which to learn as well as play. High School Campers

Students attending high school camps will not be checked in or out by AYU staff. Instructors will be asked to notify AYU of any absences and AYU will call the parent. The CEAO Web site will have a phone number posted by May 30 for parents to use to report absences, late arrivals, or early departures.

What About Lunch?

Students provide their own lunches and snacks and eat in supervised areas. With a parent’s permission, high school students (grades 9 – 12) may buy lunch at one of several eating places on the UA campus (unsupervised).

Pricing

AYU provides your child with the unique opportunity to receive high-quality instruction and access to the amazing facilities of The University of Arizona. The cost of each camp is directly related to the level of instruction, the materials cost, and the position and education of the instructors. The camps offer students the chance to work directly with top researchers, faculty, and talented graduate students. In order to assist you in evaluating the cost of each camp, we have included the cost per hour next to the individual camp price. When you consider the incredible advantages your child will receive by attending AYU, the cost is actually much lower than or equivalent to what you might expect to pay for many other summer camps offered throughout the Tucson area.

Scholarship Assistance

Financial assistance (up to half of camp tuition) is available on a limited basis. If your child’s attendance at Arizona Youth University is not possible without assistance, please call 520.621.7724 for more information. In order to be considered for fi nancial assistance, applications must be submitted to AYU no later than Friday, May 2. We will notify you around the middle of May about the award of fi nancial assistance for your child.
